This role is focused on data center design and engineering within AWS, where you will collaborate with various teams to assess and select colocation facilities. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems to influence design standards and improve processes. The position involves working with vendors and internal teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. • 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and legacy facility upgrades.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor owned and operated collocation data center’s infrastructure.
• Influence AWS’ design and specification requirements to meet business needs for AWS colocation products.
• Investigate and document root-cause failure analysis associated with infrastructure and equipment failures.
• Work with vendors and local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to validate the installation and performance of critical systems.
• Support Operations, data scientists, and other business partners in performance analysis on critical systems.
• Travel to Data Center sites as required, both internationally and domestically, up to 50%.
