The Manufacturing Engineer role at Amazon Web Services involves working in a dynamic international manufacturing environment to enhance the quality of AWS products. Engineers will collaborate with various teams, including ODMs and CMs, to monitor hardware quality and address early-life product failures. This position requires taking ownership of manufacturing launches and resolving process issues. Requirements
- 5+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or high-tech hardware
- 5+ years of product development experience
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee quality control processes across Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and vendors
- Deliver hands-on technical support during new product introductions and launches
- Evaluate and optimize product designs for quality assurance and manufacturing efficiency of servers and rack systems
- Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis
- Support global operations through regular domestic and international travel (25-50% of time)
