Job description

The Storage Server Hardware Engineer role at AWS involves designing and building next-generation storage systems and hardware components. You will be part of a diverse team that collaborates across various technology areas to deliver high-performance server solutions. The position emphasizes innovation and operational excellence, with a focus on improving product performance, quality, and cost. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or experience delivering products to volume production.
  • 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems, and systems experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience with programming/scripting languages.
  • Expertise in product development disciplines such as thermal, mechanical, power, FW/SW, reliability, and sustaining.
  • Experience with hands-on debug of hardware systems using analyzers, oscilloscopes, and JTAG.

Responsibilities

  • Design storage server platforms and AWS specific hardware components.
  • Collaborate with internal development teams and external suppliers to deliver new servers.
  • Drive execution in defining and delivering new products and services.
  • Lead the integration and delivery of servers and support the development of automated monitoring.
  • Work closely with other AWS software teams to tailor and operate server solutions for the AWS environment.
  • Support launching servers into production and operating the fleet of servers.
