The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will be part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, focusing on building applied AI solutions that enhance business operations. This role requires expertise in agentic systems and production ML systems, bridging the gap between research and customer-facing products. The team aims to deliver intuitive technology solutions that improve customer experiences and operational efficiency. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
• Knowledge of Python and/or C++ programming
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Work closely with Applied Scientists and engineering teams to transform research code into production systems
• Own end-to-end deployment at scale of Generative AI and ML methods
• Establish automated processes for large-scale data analysis and model development
• Research and implement innovative approaches for model deployment and optimization
• Document processes for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to code reviews and maintain high engineering standards
• Mentor junior Machine Learning Engineers and participate in recruiting efforts
• Present outcomes and explain technical approaches to senior leadership
