We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the mechanical design of automated fulfillment center projects at Amazon. This role involves taking ownership of project subsystems from concept through installation while mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated design solutions. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Amazon's logistics network expansion.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in design, innovation, research and development, manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience managing engineering design projects.
- Proficiency in CAD technologies such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Own and develop subsystem layouts for automated material handling systems.
- Independently select and specify conveyor types and third-party equipment.
- Coordinate with electrical, controls, and structural engineers for integrated design solutions.
- Execute and manage mechanical engineering deliverables and schedules.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on technical approaches and design standards.
