Job description

As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software across various sites. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and implementing technical solutions while ensuring the availability of IT infrastructure during production hours. The position requires self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as well as effective communication with management and staff for continuous improvement. This role is essential in supporting Amazon Operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment experience
  • 2+ years of networking experience including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
  • 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience
  • 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
  • Fluent in Cisco/networking and either Linux and/or Microsoft
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications are preferred
  • Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time
  • Experience in oral and written communication in English
  • Data center infrastructure and facilities experience is a plus
  • Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
  • Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision

Responsibilities

  • Perform network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration in various software and hardware environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
  • Interact with management and staff to provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
  • Manage local technical projects effectively.
  • Maintain or create policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Support customers from multiple buildings in the area, as well as remote customers.
  • Travel within your local or regional area to support customers.
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
