This role is for a software engineer within the Nitro Instance Lifecycle team at AWS, focusing on developing critical services for cloud infrastructure. The team is responsible for managing EC2 instances utilizing the Nitro system, ensuring high performance and security. The engineer will work closely with EC2 teams to design and build scalable services that operate at massive scale. This position offers the opportunity to impact customer experience directly and shape the future of cloud computing.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy large-scale software running across AWS data centers
- Collaborate closely with EC2 teams to curate the team’s roadmap
- Drive the system architecture and spearhead best practices for quality products
- Coach and develop junior engineers
- Debug complex issues affecting service performance and optimize critical paths in the codebase
- Coordinate with partner teams to ensure smooth integration between services
- Validate that solutions meet high reliability standards required for AWS infrastructure
