Job description

As a member of the Server Hardware Engineering team at AWS, you will lead the design and development of server products while collaborating with various teams to meet customer needs. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and addressing complex architectural challenges in compute, storage, and accelerator server systems. You will be responsible for ensuring system reliability and performance while fostering an inclusive culture that encourages innovation. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Amazon's success and the development of next-generation hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience with design and manufacturing processes.
  • 5+ years of experience leading ODMs and other suppliers in product development.
  • In-depth expertise in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, and signal integrity.
  • 10+ years of hardware development experience focusing on system/server development for large-scale applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical solutions for complex compute, storage, and accelerator server architectural challenges.
  • Own end-to-end system reliability, proactively identifying and resolving deficiencies before customer impact.
  • Design and implement solutions to address system-level issues at large scale.
  • Decompose complex server system problems into deliverable tasks and features.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and product management teams.
  • Develop and implement diagnostic tools and monitoring solutions for production systems.
  • Debug complex system failures in time-sensitive settings.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
