The Senior Global Strategy Engineer will lead engineering due diligence efforts for new and expanding data center regions, focusing on site master planning and design strategy. This role is part of the Design Engineering team within the Data Center Engineering organization at AWS. The engineer will collaborate with various internal teams to ensure design requirements are met and will manage the predesign phase of projects. The position emphasizes innovation, efficiency, and high performance standards in data center design.

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
• Knowledge of continuously operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders during the due diligence phase to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are considered.
• Gather data with internal teams to ensure prerequisites for the start of the design stage are met.
• Lead the predesign phase, managing internal partners and external vendor consultants to ensure design-ready deliverables are completed.
• Develop rollout strategies for new data center design types that impact site master plans and design strategy.
• Provide engineering design decisions to partner teams for strategic planning and region selection.
• Collaborate with other DCE teams to assess how various design types and products can be deployed for site development projects.
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.
• Escalate issues as required and communicate effectively with diverse technical backgrounds.
