The Senior Global Strategy Engineer will lead front end engineering and design strategy for new data center developments within the AWS Infrastructure Services team. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams to ensure design requirements are met and overseeing the engineering due diligence for new and expanding regions. The engineer will work closely with Real Estate, Risk and Resiliency, and other partner teams to implement global design strategies. The position requires strong leadership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple concurrent projects.

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
• Knowledge of continuously operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders during the due diligence phase to oversee the process and ensure design requirements are considered.
• Gather data with internal teams to ensure prerequisites for the start of the design stage are met.
• Lead the predesign phase, managing internal partners and external vendor consultants to ensure design-ready deliverables are completed.
• Develop rollout strategies for new data center design types that impact site master plans and design strategy.
• Provide engineering design decisions to partner teams for strategic planning and region selection.
• Collaborate with other DCE teams to assess how various design types and products can be deployed for site development projects.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgrounds.
