The Design Engineer role at Amazon focuses on optimizing the Last Mile Delivery Station Network in North America. The engineer will be responsible for building design, process improvement, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. • 5+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field.
• Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project.
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors.
• Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
• Master's degree in engineering, management, or technology is preferred.
• Experience in construction or engineering project management, real estate development, or architecture/design.

• Responsible for building design, development, review, and release for approval of new delivery stations.
• Provide process expertise on engineering design including material flow, labor placement, and equipment layout.
• Achieve the daily and weekly plans set for the Design Engineers.
• Collaborate with various teams including Design Managers, CAD drafters, and Finance for project success.
• Contribute to the culture of standardization by sharing best practices with European and Worldwide counterparts.
• Lead continuous process and design benchmark initiatives.
• Support the Design quality control process to ensure accurate designs.
• Implement new design standards in collaboration with various engineering and safety teams.
• Identify and support new expansion and process improvement initiatives at the project level.
• Implement solutions for recurring process issues within Design Engineering processes.
• Facilitate cross-functional project-specific reviews to collaborate on design solutions.
• Travel up to 25% to support complex designs.
