Job description

The Systems Development Engineer role at Amazon focuses on collaborating with Original Equipment Manufacturers to develop and implement solutions for robotics and material handling systems. This position requires significant regional travel and the ability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. The engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure system performance and adherence to industry standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 4+ years of experience as an engineer or project manager.
  • 2+ years of experience managing multiple large projects.
  • Experience designing or implementing integrated automation solutions.
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, or BIM 360.
  • Experience in robotics design, automation systems development, or control systems design.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with OEMs to develop and troubleshoot controls and hardware solutions.
  • Define requirements and standards for material handling equipment integration.
  • Prepare specifications and technical details for equipment performance.
  • Perform diagnosis of PLC and IPC control level issues.
  • Define and measure system performance KPIs using industry standards.
  • Support new material handling equipment systems deployments.
  • Develop and standardize modular PLC or IPC code for vendor use.
  • Provide technical documentation including flow diagrams and equipment layouts.
  • Support commissioning of new automation designs.
  • Conduct post go-audits to evaluate fulfillment center performance.
