The AWS Hardware Engineering team is seeking a technical leader to design and develop server products for Amazon's web services. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable server solutions. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and oversee the entire lifecycle of server products from conception to deployment. The position offers an intellectually challenging environment where innovation and creativity are encouraged.
Requirements
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 4+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- 4+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment experience
- 3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby experience
- 2+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
- 2+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
- Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production
- 3+ years of development/programming/scripting language experience in Python, Java, Bash, or Perl
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
- Experience debugging, integrating, and validating Cloud Computing servers
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of server products utilizing various design and manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers to deliver server products at scale.
- Oversee the fleet of servers developed, monitoring their quality and customer requirements.
- Decompose complex server system problems into manageable tasks and lead their delivery.
- Drive high quality and reliability into future designs for AWS server solutions.
