This role is for a senior software engineer focused on building cryptographic systems that enhance customer control over their data. You will work with Rust, PKI, formal verification, and distributed systems while leading multi-quarter initiatives from design to deployment. As part of the Piezo team, you will influence technical direction and drive security outcomes across AWS service teams. Your work will have significant visibility and impact on how Amazon builders operate their services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cryptographic systems using Rust, formal verification, PKI, and distributed systems.
- Own multi-quarter initiatives from design through deployment.
- Drive technical decisions with broad impact across multiple teams.
- Conduct insightful code reviews that improve design quality.
- Debug complex issues across multiple systems.
