Job description
Amazon Prime Air is looking for an experienced System Development Engineer to lead the development of features and infrastructure for their drone software simulator. This role involves designing, building, and operating services that support software development and testing. The ideal candidate will work closely with a team of engineers and scientists, driving innovation and solving complex problems. Requirements
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, TypeScript, or Ruby
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience building tools for building, testing, releasing or monitoring
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable AWS-based services and infrastructure that support software development and testing across Prime Air.
- Develop and improve simulation orchestration and workflow systems used by engineering teams across the organization.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tooling.
- Develop and maintain tooling that supports verification, certification, and simulation-based testing campaigns.
- Work closely with engineers across Prime Air who use software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation to develop, test, and certify drone software.
- Participate in on-call rotations and use operational metrics to drive service reliability and continuous improvement.
- Participate in design and architecture reviews for new services and simulation platform features.
- Influence the team's technical strategy by identifying opportunities to improve reliability, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
