As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, focusing on acoustic design and mitigation. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards for safety and security while optimizing capacity for customers. This role involves leading projects to retrofit data centers and improve acoustic design standards. You will also engage with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations.
Requirements
- Valid and active driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related engineering or scientific discipline
- 1+ year of experience in acoustics, noise control, or environmental noise assessment
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Python
- Master's degree in Acoustics, Noise Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field is preferred
- Familiarity with acoustic modeling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, or ODEON
- Experience with sound level meters and field measurement techniques
- Exposure to environmental noise regulations, zoning ordinances, or permitting processes
Responsibilities
- Coordinate acoustical mitigation requirements and provide detailed construction specifications for sound-related trades
- Review all design disciplines to ensure compliance with site acoustic requirements
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for acoustic issues
- Own design solutions for acoustic retrofit projects
- Initiate and lead acoustic audits including on-site visits within Amazon’s data centers
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
- Support training programs for team members
