Job description

The Infrastructure Reliability Engineer will focus on proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating reliability risks for datacenter infrastructure equipment. This role involves conducting root cause analysis of critical equipment failures and driving continuous improvements to enhance datacenter availability for AWS customers. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure product specifications and risk management are effectively executed. The position requires a strong background in reliability engineering and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Reliability Engineering work experience in a high reliability industry.
  • 3+ years of experience with failure analysis activities and root cause analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience with accelerated life testing, stress analysis, and finite element analysis.
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Reliability Engineering, Physics, Electrical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in working with external design and manufacturing supply chain partners.
  • Familiarity with major data center infrastructure equipment reliability performance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive reliability risk identification, assessment, and mitigation for datacenter infrastructure equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of critical equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement analytical and empirical approaches for product quality and reliability risk assessment.
  • Establish critical to quality and reliability metrics based on process capability and system-level performance requirements.
  • Monitor product performance in the field and drive continuous improvements for datacenter availability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive product specification and risk identification plans.
