As a Regional Environmental Engineer at AWS, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance at data centers in Oregon. You will develop standards and policies to support regulatory compliance while fostering an environmentally responsible culture within the organization. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will guide teams in implementing Amazon's environmental standards. This role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse team dedicated to maintaining the highest safety and security standards.

• 5+ years of regulatory and risk management experience
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations
• BA/BS degree in chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field of study
• Broad knowledge of US environmental regulations
• Experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy
• Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization
• Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards
• Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance
• Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement
• Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies
• Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early
• Assist in time-critical report submission to governmental agencies
• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and develop appropriate corrective action
