Job description

Amazon Industrial Robotics is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop innovative hardware systems for advanced robotics solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
  • Experience leading the mechanical detailed design of electro-mechanical systems
  • Hands-on experience crafting proof-of-concept models and prototypes
  • Experience communicating concepts to leadership and writing technical documents
  • Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Experience evaluating design, performance and logistical tradeoffs for hardware systems
  • Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5
  • Experience designing and debugging tooled components
  • Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO’s
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys Finite Element Analysis tools

Responsibilities

  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production.
  • Own the detailed design and performance of a robotics design.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations to ensure a smooth product launch.
  • Write functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Exhibit role model behaviors of mechanical engineering best practices and thorough engineering analysis.
  • Design and adapt holistic hardware solutions for ambiguous problems with fluid requirements.
  • Lead the development of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Manage the project management of technical projects.
  • Launch products at scale and collaborate with Electrical and Controls engineers.
