The Network Development Engineer role at Amazon's Prime Air team focuses on optimizing and growing the ground network infrastructure for drone delivery centers. The InfraOps team is dedicated to ensuring operational excellence and safety in network services that operate at scale. This position requires a passion for innovation and a commitment to maintaining high performance and capacity across multiple geographic regions. Candidates will work closely with vendors and cross-functional teams to support the growth of Prime Air's infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience with advanced networking and troubleshooting.
- 4+ years of network engineering and deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment.
- 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
- Experience in wireless system design and architecture, system integration, and RF system analysis.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud-based networking technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- 4+ years of experience with network automation tools and scripting for network operations.
- Professional networking certifications such as CCNP Service Provider or CCNP Enterprise certification.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage networks across several geographic regions.
- Monitor and maintain performance and capacity at Amazon’s office installations.
- Provide operational support for multi-vendor data connectivity solutions.
- Work with vendors and cross-functional teams for ongoing design efforts and systems support.
- Participate in Operational Excellency by continuously optimizing and automating networking processes.
- Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while attending on-call rotations during business hours and rostered weekends.
