Job description

As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, operation, and maintenance meet high standards. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to troubleshoot issues, develop innovative solutions, and lead engineering audits. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and sustainability while supporting the expansion of AWS's global infrastructure. You will engage with various teams to enhance data center capacity and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in data centers.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers.
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Possess data analytics skills and comfort with working in large datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for site and equipment failures.
  • Support operational issues with training and complex procedure reviews.
  • Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and solutions.
  • Interface with internal teams to promote standards for service consistency.
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
  • Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and mitigations.
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects.
