This role is a foundational tech lead opportunity to architect and own a greenfield, enterprise-grade data and insights platform for Amazon Autos. The position focuses on building AI-powered data platforms that enable automobile dealers and partners to make data-driven decisions. You will work at the intersection of data engineering, AI/ML, and product, leading cross-functional initiatives and mentoring engineers. The team is dedicated to transforming Amazon Autos' data infrastructure into a scalable service that enhances customer experiences.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience analyzing large datasets and translating them into actionable business insights
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience developing end-to-end analytics solutions
• Experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, and Hive
• Experience with Redshift or similar big data architectures
• Experience with Kafka or similar big data architectures

• Architect and own the end-to-end design of a full-stack data platform
• Define and enforce technical standards across the team
• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives aligning various teams around a unified data strategy
• Build AI-powered data platforms that serve ML models and deploy intelligent agents
• Design and implement large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS-native and big data technologies
• Drive the API strategy for external partner integrations
• Lead design reviews and define code quality standards
• Mentor and grow engineers on the team by providing technical guidance
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions
• Define SLAs, build monitoring and alerting, and lead incident response for production systems
