Job description

The Senior Software Development Engineer will join the Artificial Intelligence Security (AISec) team at Amazon, focusing on building secure and scalable global security services. This role requires a deeply technical leader who can drive innovation and manage complex projects across diverse teams. The engineer will be responsible for defining best practices in the software development lifecycle and ensuring the quality of system architecture. The position emphasizes ownership, judgment, and a customer-centric approach to security engineering.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and testing
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Build a massively scalable global security service that is core to all Amazon services.
  • Own the definition of best practices for the software development lifecycle used by junior engineers.
  • Work as part of cross-functional teams to develop secure solutions for customers.
  • Serve as a technical lead on demanding cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure the quality of architecture and design of systems.
  • Decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions.
