Job description

This role is for a software engineer in the Machine Learning Applications team for AWS Neuron, focusing on the development and performance tuning of various ML model families, including large language models and Vision Transformers. The team collaborates closely with chip architects and compiler engineers to create distributed training solutions using Trainium. Strong software development and machine learning knowledge are essential for maximizing model efficiency on AWS Trainium. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to build distributed training support into Pytorch and Jax using XLA and the Neuron compiler.
  • Tune ML models to ensure highest performance on customer AWS Trainium.
  • Collaborate with chip architects, compiler engineers, and runtime engineers.
  • Develop and enable performance tuning for a variety of ML model families.
