The Software Development Engineer on the Log-Level Data team will build foundational infrastructure to capture, process, store, and analyze petabyte-scale log-level advertising data. This role focuses on empowering Amazon's largest advertising partners by enhancing auction competitiveness, identifying revenue opportunities, and ensuring supply chain transparency. The team is dedicated to delivering advanced analytic solutions that meet the needs of strategic advertising customers. The position requires collaboration with senior engineers and participation in design discussions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Demonstrated track record of innovative AI solution development
- Experience with natural language processing and generative model architectures
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store petabyte-scale log-level advertising data from multiple sources.
- Build ETL workflows that transform raw event-level data into queryable formats.
- Develop components of data storage solutions and access layers within existing system architectures.
- Create and maintain APIs that enable analytics teams and data scientists to query log-level data efficiently.
- Implement data quality checks, validation logic, and monitoring for assigned data pipelines.
- Optimize performance and cost efficiency of existing data processing jobs and queries.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand technical requirements.
- Debug and resolve production issues, participating in on-call rotations as needed.
- Document systems, processes, and runbooks to support operational excellence.
