As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, operation, and maintenance meet high standards of safety and efficiency. You will collaborate with diverse teams to troubleshoot issues, develop innovative solutions, and lead engineering audits. This role is essential in supporting the expansion of AWS's global infrastructure while maintaining reliability and capacity for customers. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Data analytics skills and comfort with working in large datasets.
Responsibilities
- Provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through maintenance.
- Troubleshoot site and equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
- Support operational issues with training and complex procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and solutions.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and mitigations.
- Act as a resident engineer during new construction projects.
