Join the Redshift Catalog team to tackle complex challenges associated with petabyte-scale systems. The role involves deep engagement with the interactions between the AWS Redshift query processing engine and catalog, focusing on reliable and fast metadata storage. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of distributed systems and will contribute to building a highly efficient analytics database engine. You will also work on innovative features that enhance Redshift's competitiveness in the analytics space.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Design and develop the Redshift catalog
- Debug complex problems related to metadata storage
- Improve performance and availability of the system
- Mentor and grow junior engineers
- Create integrations between Redshift and other services
