The Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer at Amazon Devices will focus on ensuring the reliability of new and emerging robotic devices. This role involves collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team and external partners to define product execution and testing methodologies. The engineer will leverage their expertise in reliability statistics and electrical systems to influence design decisions. The position requires a blend of hands-on experimental design and analytical skills to predict and mitigate product risks.

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field and 7+ years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
• Experience with hardware reliability testing such as vibration & shock testing, fatigue testing, electrical stress testing, ESD testing, and thermal stress testing.
• Experience in data analytics and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of failure analysis techniques including electrical debug, cross sectioning, dye and pry, and microscope.
• Experience in Robotics, including reliability of motors, sensors, and high power electronics.

• Identify and validate product risks related to electrical and mechanical systems.
• Define test methodology and coverage to assure product reliability.
• Provide hands-on experimental design and execution.
• Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms on products under development and in the field.
• Select components and understand their reliability.
• Communicate effectively in writing and presentations.
