The Network Development Engineer will join the Core Networking team within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks across global datacenters. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks. The engineer will be responsible for implementing changes, optimizing network performance, and supporting critical network operations. The position emphasizes innovation and the delivery of sustainable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience

• Perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, and scaling.
• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Lead network projects in areas such as network sustaining engineering and optimization.
• Sustain AWS’s next generation networks by providing critical network support.
• Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues.
• Drive and support innovation across the network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams for smooth roll-out of new designs.
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance.
• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
• Create and review documentation regarding network implementations and procedures.
