Job description
The DCEO Chief Engineer (CE) at Amazon is responsible for ensuring the peak efficiency of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within a data center. This role involves managing maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency responses while supporting the Data Center Facility Manager and Engineering Operations Technicians. The CE will also oversee small-to-medium impact projects aimed at driving innovation and reducing operational costs. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance are required.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or critical environment.
- 5+ years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation.
- Experience with power management and monitoring systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
- Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center.
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendor support teams.
- Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians.
