As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring they meet evolving customer needs. You will collaborate with diverse teams to maintain high standards for safety and security while enhancing capacity and efficiency. This role involves troubleshooting, conducting root cause analysis, and developing innovative solutions for data centers. You will also lead engineering audits and support construction projects, making a significant impact on AWS's global infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, particularly in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment related to data centers.
- Possess data analytics skills and comfort with working in large datasets.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis for site and equipment failures.
- Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and recommendations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting commissioning and turnover.
