As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, operation, and maintenance meet high standards. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to troubleshoot issues, develop innovative solutions, and lead engineering audits. This role emphasizes collaboration across various teams to enhance data center capacity and efficiency while maintaining safety and reliability. You will also engage in both office and field work, contributing to projects that support AWS's expansive infrastructure.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot site and equipment failures and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Support operational issues with training and complex operating procedure reviews.
- Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and design solutions.
- Interface with internal teams to promote standards for service consistency and reliability.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and mitigations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction and commissioning.
