Job description
The Senior Security Engineer at eero will provide security expertise and strategic guidance across the solutions ecosystem. This role involves close collaboration with software development teams to maintain high security standards while delivering innovative services. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise and exceptional leadership skills, effectively communicating complex security risks to diverse audiences. This position is integral to ensuring security is embedded in every decision from design to deployment.
Requirements
- Knowledge of at least two programming languages such as Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
- 3+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
- 3+ years of experience in application security frameworks, identity and access controls, incident response, mobile security, cloud security, AI security, threat intelligence, or penetration testing.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 2+ years of IT Security experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud and web security.
- Experience developing and delivering security software tools.
- Experience identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
- Knowledge of network and web related protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP or equivalent.
- Experience analyzing data to drive decisions.
- Experience with embedded systems or IoT device security.
Responsibilities
- Analyze application code for security vulnerabilities.
- Build tools and frameworks that help developers work securely and efficiently.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into new service architectures.
- Conduct comprehensive security reviews.
- Collaborate with product managers to balance security requirements with user experiences.
