Job description

Amazon Industrial Robotics is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their firmware development team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining firmware for robotic control and safety systems, contributing to innovative automation solutions. Candidates should have a strong background in embedded systems and a passion for solving complex problems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of development experience within an embedded environment
  • Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and debugging production quality products
  • Demonstrable experience with Linux and C, with experience in other RTOS systems preferred
  • Experience with image and visual processing or work with sensing devices such as cameras, radars, or lidars
  • Technical knowledge in at least one system of wireless, networking, or electro-mechanical control systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of developing a product to be certified to the 61508 industrial safety standards or similar standards
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clarity

Responsibilities

  • Participate as an active member of the firmware team, developing and maintaining the firmware base of the robotic fleet and safety systems
  • Learn and master multiple components within the firmware environment, including areas such as cameras, WiFi, security, navigation, and sensors
  • Work with and lead teams of high caliber firmware developers on critical products
  • Demonstrate best engineering practices, documentation, and ownership
  • Develop, test, and debug complex modern robotic systems
  • Participate in design discussions and brainstorm novel approaches to challenging problems in robotics
  • Write automated tests to validate newly created features or conduct live testing to debug and root cause issues
