Job description
The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation and robotics technologies across North America. This position involves extensive travel, with upwards of 75% required, to oversee project planning, installation, and launch of robotic systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience with complex electro-mechanical systems. The role emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field
- 1+ years of experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
- 1+ years of experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
- Practical understanding of network fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, and switching
- Certified in OSHA, ANSI, or other Automation Safety Certifications
Responsibilities
- Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
- Travel to project sites across North America to ensure alignment on program status
- Lead teams of other engineers on projects and manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells
