Job description

The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation and robotics technologies across North America. This position requires strong technical skills in mechanical and electrical systems, network configurations, and software coordination. The role involves extensive travel, with expectations of over 75% travel to project sites. The ideal candidate will lead project planning, installation, and launch efforts while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful technology deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models.
  • 1+ years of experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations.
  • Practical understanding of network fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
  • Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers.
  • Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management.
  • Lead teams of other engineers on projects.
  • Travel to project sites across North America to ensure alignment on program status.
