Job description
The Data Engineer role at UTR Planning Tech focuses on building and optimizing data infrastructure for labor planning across Amazon's delivery network. Requirements
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- 1+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes
- 1+ years of experience with OLAP technologies
- 1+ years of experience with data modeling
- 1+ years of experience using SQL
- 1+ years of experience with Oracle
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases or data stores
Responsibilities
- Design and own logical and physical data models for major datasets in the team's architecture.
- Build and optimize ETL pipelines for complex datasets using AWS services and Python-based orchestration.
- Design and build configuration-driven data frameworks that replace repetitive custom code with reusable patterns.
- Build AI agent tooling and interfaces for conversational agents to manage data operations through natural language.
- Own ongoing data quality for datasets built, implementing standardized data contracts and automating quality processes.
- Collaborate with planning scientists, software engineers, BI engineers, and product managers to balance requirements.
- Improve self-service access to data by building analytical data models and tooling.
- Automate manual operations and establish monitoring and alerting standards.
- Mentor engineers and interns, training new team members on data solutions.
- Participate in the interview process and help recruit for the team.
