This role is for a passionate and motivated engineer to join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. The team works on complex problems related to supply chain management and aims to provide high standards of safety and security while ensuring cost efficiency for customers. Candidates will collaborate with a diverse group of engineers and specialists to maintain and improve critical infrastructure systems. The position emphasizes innovation, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of Linux systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems and networking fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or Perl.
  • Experience working with Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain critical infrastructure systems.
  • Troubleshoot deployment failures and create infrastructure as code.
  • Design and develop scripts to automate operational burdens.
  • Review scripting changes to ensure they meet standards for maintainability, scalability, and security.
  • Maintain the resilience and reliability of services in a 24/7 production environment.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
