Job description
The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) role involves overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. The CxE will work within a creative and efficient team to ensure construction quality aligns with engineering designs. This position requires collaboration with various teams and vendors to tackle complex challenges in data center operations. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and communication of lessons learned to enhance the commissioning program.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant discipline work experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in high stress environments
Responsibilities
- Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
- Manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite testing
- Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
- Communicate lessons learned and collaborate on program improvements
