Job description

The EPMS Controls Design Engineer will join the Controls Design Engineering team within AWS Data Center Global Services, focusing on enhancing global data center design standards related to control, automation, and electrical power monitoring systems. The role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while delivering efficient solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center environmental controls systems and project management. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative building controls and automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in utilizing or generating electrical drawings and design engineering documents focused on data center or critical environment projects.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing or contributing to the design of controls and monitoring solution projects.
  • 1+ year of project management experience focused on data center or critical environments projects.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related engineering degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Track, document, communicate, and enhance global data center design standards.
  • Review MEP drawings with a focus on electrical drawing sets for EPMS design content.
  • Create EPMS scopes of work (SOW) and provide RFI support.
  • Coordinate with regional project managers to review and finalize project SOWs.
  • Attend Factory Witness Tests (FWTs) and Equipment Qualification Tests (EQTs) for EPMS point validation.
  • Create, update, and maintain controls points list and specifications.
  • Develop and disseminate specification documents for global projects.
  • Lead collaboration with multiple teams including construction, programmers, and engineers.
  • Manage and prioritize requests for information on new construction builds and existing site facilities support.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for multiple internal and external groups regarding EPMS design standards.
