The Commissioning Engineer at AWS is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the commissioning of critical infrastructure for new construction and special projects. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including vendors and contractors, to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. The position requires a proactive approach to communication and reporting on project statuses. Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers or power generation.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Professional Engineer License is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate multi-discipline work related to design review and commissioning of Amazon critical infrastructure.
- Support vendors, contractors, and teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems.
- Develop and review electrical and mechanical component testing and commissioning documents.
- Ensure compliance with safety practices and policies during commissioning procedures.
- Audit commissioning activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Communicate proactively with the ACx Regional Manager and team regarding test documents and commissioning requirements.
- Provide comprehensive weekly reporting on the status of ongoing projects and program improvements.
