Job description
The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) role at Amazon involves overseeing the testing and validation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in AWS data centers. The CxE will work within a diverse team to ensure high standards of safety and security while managing multiple projects. This position focuses on coordinating site activities, managing vendors, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety requirements. Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Responsibilities
- Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Review design documents and equipment submittals.
- Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and manage third-party commissioning vendors.
- Audit commissioning vendors' activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager.
- Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks to ensure clear paths to resolution for issues.
- Communicate lessons learned to help peers on similar projects and participate in initiatives for program improvement.
