Job description

The AWS CloudFront team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to contribute to critical infrastructure and customer observability initiatives. This role involves designing and enhancing systems to ensure high availability and security for CloudFront's global infrastructure. The team values collaboration and innovation, working on complex challenges to deliver a seamless video experience for customers. Candidates will have the opportunity to mentor others and drive strategic initiatives within a diverse and inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect new systems from scratch or enhance existing infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide team members in solving complex technical challenges.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to improve security posture and availability.
  • Participate actively in hands-on development and rigorous code reviews.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code that meets production standards.
