Job description

This is a Lead Software Engineering position at the Director level within the Client Channels Authentication Team at Morgan Stanley. The team is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of the Wealth Management Client facing website and mobile app. The role focuses on creating and maintaining web applications primarily using Java and React, while ensuring a secure and resilient technology stack. The candidate will work in a diverse, globally distributed team that follows agile methodologies.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of work experience primarily with building server-side applications using J2EE.
  • Excellent Java and Multithreading programming skills.
  • Experience with MVC frameworks like Spring and microservices framework.
  • Good understanding of building SPAs using frontend technologies such as React and Angular 10.
  • Knowledge of application servers like Apache Tomcat or WebSphere.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain web applications primarily using Java and React.
  • Develop software applications using programming languages or frameworks such as HTML, CSS, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Create patches and updates for web-based applications.
  • Integrate Java applications with other programs using APIs.
  • Participate in detailed design sessions with the team and engage in hands-on coding and testing.
