NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Architect with extensive experience in industry standard I/O interfaces. This role involves developing chip requirements and architecture while participating in industry standards organizations. The position offers the chance to collaborate with GPU, SOC, and system architects to assess I/O interface and internal fabric requirements for future chip architectures. The ideal candidate will engage with customers and partners to shape interconnect strategies for AI and graphics systems.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in relevant fields
  • Deep knowledge of PCIe, CXL, UCIe, or similar I/O interface technologies
  • Understanding of system architecture, virtual addressing/translation, interrupts, and cache coherence protocols
  • Experience working in industry standards bodies is a plus
  • Ability to identify, gather, and document requirements and write technical specifications and whitepapers
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across diverse technical domains

Responsibilities

  • Develop ECNs addressing requirements for new capabilities and steer them through industry standards organizations such as PCIe, CXL, and UCIe
  • Drive internal architecture of designs for adoption of features and capabilities in industry specifications
  • Engage with customers and partner companies to develop interconnect strategies and understand requirements for future AI and graphics systems
  • Work across architecture, software, hardware design, and verification teams to align functionality, compliance, and roadmaps
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into PCIe performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, improving data throughput, and analyzing complex memory ordering requirements to ensure data consistency and efficiency

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
