NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join their Autonomous Vehicle Software Development team. The role focuses on integrating machine learning and classical trajectory planning within a safety-oriented framework for high autonomy levels. Candidates should possess strong software integration and architecture fundamentals, along with a broader understanding of behavior planning and safety concepts. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of autonomous vehicles.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • A track record of driving large self-driving projects through the entire development lifecycle.
  • BS/MS or higher in robotics, computer science, or related engineering fields.
  • Experience in agile software development processes and delivering software as a product, preferably in safety-critical applications.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Strong analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct various architectural work across teams involving classical and machine learning planners.
  • Establish a framework that satisfies safety requirements in trajectory planning.
  • Engage in safety-related work experience in autonomous systems.
  • Build Minimum-Risk-Planning in a high-level autonomy system.
  • Establish scalable architecture for various NVIDIA self-driving stacks as products.
  • Actively engage in planning and control algorithms development and implementation.
  • Review, influence, and challenge algorithms in planning and control with new ideas.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
