Job description

The role involves working as a developer for the Morgan Stanley Digital Client Services team in Chicago. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing features for mobile Android applications while collaborating with global teams. This position requires a strong understanding of Android development and the ability to mentor junior team members. The focus is on creating optimized user experiences and integrating backend systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of software development experience
  • 3-5 years of Android experience building native apps
  • Expert knowledge of Kotlin and Java
  • Experience with the Android SDK
  • Good understanding of the MVVM architectural pattern
  • Experience with asynchronous programming using Kotlin coroutines or RxJava
  • Understanding of reactive programming using LiveData and Flow
  • Experience working with RESTful API type web services
  • Knowledge of dependency injection using Dagger or Hilt
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design, principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Understanding of source code control, preferably with Git
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose
