The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation and robotics technologies across North America. This position requires strong technical skills in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as network configurations. The team is responsible for overseeing large-scale project planning, installation, and launch of these technologies. Candidates will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
- 1-3 years of experience working in a field engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- Experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
- Ability to travel domestically 75% or more of the year
Responsibilities
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
- Develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of these systems
- Manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
