Job description
The Sr. Regulatory Compliance Engineer at Amazon Lab126 will focus on ensuring that consumer electronic products meet North American and global regulatory standards. This role requires expertise in RF systems, EMC design, and regulatory compliance, as well as the ability to navigate complex compliance challenges. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive design for compliance and innovate wireless products. Additionally, the position involves mentoring junior engineers and communicating regulatory strategies to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in RF/Microwave Design, EMC Design, Antenna Design, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance around wireless, EMC, testing, and certification.
- 7+ years of experience in one or more wireless technologies such as WLAN, BT, Zigbee, or Cellular.
- Experience in submissions for official certification through relevant compliance bodies such as FCC, ISED, CE NB, TELEC, and WPC.
- Experience working with Asia-based manufacturing partners and test labs.
- Experience in documenting regulatory requirements extracted from compliance standards.
- Experience in compliance test setup in semi-anechoic chambers and demonstrated experience with test equipment like signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
- Master's or PhD degree in RF/Microwave Design, EMC Design, Antenna Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in chipset design and RF architectural design.
- Strong network within regulatory authorities and industry organizations.
Responsibilities
- Drive global regulatory strategy across the hardware portfolio and launch countries.
- Lead engagement with industry bodies and regulatory authorities to influence standards and regulations.
- Develop scalable mechanisms for regulatory intelligence, risk assessment, and compliance processes.
- Guide cross-functional teams through complex regulatory challenges to achieve business-critical goals.
- Create strategic initiatives to address emerging regulatory challenges while enabling innovation.
- Anticipate bottlenecks and develop risk mitigation strategies in fast-paced environments.
- Lead creative problem-solving of technical and non-technical regulatory challenges.
- Communicate regulatory strategies and risks effectively to senior leadership.
- Build strong relationships with public policy, legal, and business stakeholders.
- Monitor global regulatory landscapes and assess impact on product development strategies.
