The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) is responsible for overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while delivering quality projects. The CxE will manage third-party commissioning vendors and provide multi-discipline input into project planning and execution. The position requires strong technical competency and the ability to communicate effectively across various teams.

• 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or 5 years of relevant discipline work experience
• High technical competency in either mechanical or electrical or control systems utilized in critical infrastructures
• Ability to understand design concepts by reviewing mechanical or electrical design documentation
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and preferred knowledge of SharePoint
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in high-stress environments
• Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components

• Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
• Review design documents and equipment submittals to ensure compliance with Amazon standards
• Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and manage third-party commissioning vendors
• Audit commissioning vendors’ activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
• Regularly report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager
• Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks to ensure clear paths to resolution for issues
• Communicate lessons learned upon project completion to assist peers on similar projects
